Almost Caught Up

Well I'm almost caught up on the recent projects that I've done in the past few months. I can't believe how far behind I'd gotten on my blog posts. I guess it's easy to do when you aren't crafting on a regular basis.

Three of my girlfriends & I have started to get together twice a month and take turns teaching each other a new project. My turn was in February & I decided to teach some card techniques that I came across.

The first card uses the new Stampin Up Two Step Bird Punch that was introduced in the Occasions Mini Catalogue (Jan 5th - April 30th). Being a punch addict I knew that I had to have it.(I love it!). Not only can you use it to create the bird, it makes the coolest tulips and other flowers. This is one that I cased & taught.
The next card I taught uses the Stampin Up Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set. This is a gorgeous stamp set and there is so much that can be done with it. Another must have for me. I also cased this one. Thanks for looking!

Scissor Crazy

One of the challenges on the Fiskateer site was to take a picture and post it to your gallery showing off all your scissors. Talk about scissor crazy. I even think I've added some new one's since this picture was taken.

Easel Card Case

After seeing a card online that was done by a friend of mine Sherry H, I knew that I had to case it. I love these Easel Cards.

Punchies

Now I certainly can't post to my blog without showing a new punch creation. I have so much fun doing punch creations. There are so many talented punch artists out there and this is one that I've cased. It uses mostly all Stampin Up punches.

More Past Fiskateer Challenges

Here are a few more Fiskateer challenges from some of the online crops that I participated in.

This first layout is of my adorable Great Niece Dakota. She loves chapstick & will smother her lips with it until they are covered as well as most of the lower part of her face. She's just too cute!
These next 2 layouts are of me when I was about 10. I scanned old newspaper clippings that my mother saved of when I was in a walkathon as well as one of my brother & I with Smokey the Bear.

This is a "bronze" baby shoe that I did for one of the Olympic challenges on the Fiskateer site.

Rub A Dub Dub

Awhile back I entered a challenge on the Fiskateers site where we had to use a head photo on a project. As soon as I saw this Gruffy stamp, I had to have it as it reminded me so much of the photos that my mom has of the 3 of us in the bathtub. I decided to do the image using the heads of my 3 adorable great nephews & niece. This is what I came up with.

Mean Nurse

I visit my doctor's office on a weekly basis for a needle. His nurse Geri has been giving me my needle for about 3 years now. I really appreciate her doing this and as a thank you, I recently made her a shadow box using a Bugaboo digital stamp.

I fell in love with this stamp as soon as I saw it and although I cased the card idea, the shadow box was my own creation. My GF Bonnie gave me the inspiration to do a shadow box with the image. Geri loved the shadow box & now has it hanging in the office.

Here's the shadow box I created for Geri

These are the cards I made using the same image. How fun would these be to send off to someone who's not feeling well.

Here's the card that I made for Geri to let her know that I appreciate her giving me my needles every week. The punched nurse idea was cased.

Thanks for looking!

Digital Stamps

Lately I've gotten into digital stamps. Some of my favorite digital images are Mo's as well as Bugaboo.

During the evenings I enjoy sitting in front of the tv coloring images with my Copic Markers. Then if & when I need a card, I have lots of images to chose from. These are some of the cards that I've made in the past few months using ditital images.

Belated Valentine's Post

I should have posted this for Valentine's Day but never did. My mind seems to be in renovation mode and everything else has been neglected.

This year for Valentine's Day my son surprised me with a dozen roses. I was so surprised and ended up crying. He said "your not crying are you mom?". Of course I answered "No". Then he says "your crying". "Yeah but they're happy tears."

I had to take a picture of my roses as they are so beautiful.

Thanks for looking.

Where Have I Been??

Wow...it's been a long time since I've posted anything on my blog. I've been renovating my apartment for what seems like forever. It's not something that I'd ever want to do again especially when you aren't in the greatest of health.

I finally got the upstairs finished last fall and then came the process of putting everything back in it's place. I had a lot of stuff that had been stored downstairs & needed to go back upstairs. Then it was almost Christmas & who wants to have their house torn apart at that time.

Right now I'm in the process of trying to get my downstairs finished off. I finally have the kitchen & livingroom painted. I had a new laminate floor put down in the livingroom a week ago. Now I have to move all of the boxes out of the kitchen so that we can start that floor. It turns out that underneath the linoleum is a pine plank floor & instead of putting down a laminate floor, I'm going to get the kitchen one refinished.

Once I get the downstairs finished, I can have my new furniture & appliances delivered. Yeah!! Then I plan on having some shelves installed in my studio closet which should help me better organize that space. Once the shelves are installed, I'm hoping that my niece can come down for the day & help me get my upstairs & studio organized so that I can get back into crafting again. It's been so long since I've done anything.

I'm hoping that I'll soon be back to posting regularly. In the meantime I have a few projects that I did a month ago that I haven't yet posted. I'll get them posted shortly.
